Our Group Field Trip to Segovia, a Picture Day

You just know it's going to be a wonderful day when it
begins with chocolate and churros!

This Roman aqueduct is perhaps the most famous
of Segovia's landmarks, built in the late 1st or early
2nd Century AD, and was in use until 1973.

The Alcázar, or Royal Palace, of Segovia dates from
the 12th Century, and was the inspiration for
Disney's Cinderella's Castle.

La Granja, or  The Farm, formally known as La Granja
de San Ildefonso, is not far from Segovia.

Valle de los Caídos, or  The Valley of the Fallen, the
Catholic basilica memorializing those who died in the
Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), was carved into a mountain
outside of Madrid.  It was the former burial place
of Spain's fascist dictator, Francisco Franco.
